Down South Doggies was founded in 2021 by Cody and Katie Sylwestrowicz in Whiting, Indiana. When their first born daughter Oakley was born, they knew they wanted a business where they could all work together. They always dreamed of having a family business….

Cody and Katie always had a passion for dogs. In 2020, their 4 year old german shepherd, Jefe had red fur on his paw pad. They discovered it was a food allergy. They changed his diet, and he had no more food allergies! Which led to their other german shepherd dog Skout…

In 2021, Cody and Katie were out of town. Skout was given processed treats by a loved one, which was a blessing in disguise. When they got back, they noticed his paws became red and itchy. They knew from their other dog Jefe, the signs of food allergies. They then set out to create a better alternative to processed dog treats that Skout and Jefe were eating by baking all-natural, fresh dog treats in their very own kitchen. Skout’s food allergies were diminished and no more vet visit concerns! That was when God gave Cody and Katie the idea of Down South Doggies.

Cody and Katie had a blessed first season amongst the Northwest Indiana area by launching their market presence in the late summer of 2021 and also are in the process of supplying local dog treats to local small businesses.
